Mi sono laureata in Matematica al Dipartimento U. Dini di Firenze nel 1977, con una tesi a carattere storico-didattico, sotto la guida del Prof. C. Pucci. Presso lo stesso Dipartimento ho svolto e sto svolgendo la mia attività scientifica e didattica, prima come borsista C.N.R. a decorrere dal 1978, quindi come ricercatrice dal 1984 al 2011. Il 23 dicembre 2011 ho preso servizio come professore associato presso il Dipartimento di Matematica U. Dini di Firenze. Le mie ricerche si sono svolte e si svolgono nell'ambito della Storia delle Matematiche e della Storia dell'insegnamento della Matematica. La mia produzione scientifica riguarda essenzialmente la scuola galileiana, i maestri e le scuole d’abaco del Medioevo e del Rinascimento, studi biografici su Luca Pacioli e Leonardo da Vinci. Dal conseguimento della Laurea fino ad oggi ho partecipato a corsi di aggiornamento per insegnanti di scuola secondaria superiore, a convegni e seminari ed ho collaborato alla preparazione di alcune mostre relative alla Storia delle Matematiche. Oltre a diversi corsi di esercitazione, ho tenuto il corso di Analisi Matematica I per Ingegneria dell’Ambiente, il corso di Matematica e di Elementi di Matematica e Statistica per Biotecnologie, i corsi di Lineamenti di Storia delle Matematiche e di Storia della Matematica per la Laurea Magistrale in Matematica; ho anche tenuto un breve corso all’Università dell’Età Libera sulla “Storia della Matematica in Italia tra il XIII e il XV secolo”.

I graduated in Mathematics from the Department U. Dini of Florence University in 1977, with a thesis of a historical-didactic character, under the guidance of Prof. C. Pucci. I have carried out and am still carrying out my academic and teaching activity in the same department, first as the holder of a scholarship from the National Research Council, commencing in 1978, and then as a researcher from 1984 to 2011. On 23 December 2011 I was given the post of associate professor in the U. Dini Mathematics Department at Florence University. My research has been and continues to be conducted in the sphere of the history of mathematics and the history of the teaching of mathematics. My academic production is focused essentially on the Galilean school and the abacus teachers and schools of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, and has included biographical studies of Luca Pacioli and Leonardo da Vinci. Since graduating I have attended refresher courses for high-school teachers, conferences and seminars and I have collaborated on the preparation of several exhibitions relating to the history of mathematics. In addition to several training courses, I have taught the Mathematical Analysis I course for Environmental Engineering, the courses of Mathematics and Basics of Mathematics and Statistics for Biotechnology, the courses of Outlines of the History of Mathematics and History of Mathematics for the second-cycle degree in Mathematics; I have also taught a short course at the Open University for All Ages on the “History of Mathematics in Italy between the 13th and 15th Centuries”.
