Michele Basso received the Electronic Engineeringdegree from the University of Florence in 1992 and a PhD in Systems Engineering from the University of Bologna in 1997.
From September 1995 to March 1996 he spent a period of study at the Institute for Systems Research, University of Maryland (College Park). From March 1997 to June 1997 he carried out his research activity at the Center for Control Engineering and Computation, Mechanical and Environmental Engineering Department, University of California (Santa Barbara).
From February 1998 to December 2010 he was Researcher in automation at the Department of Systems and Informatics of the University of Florence, obtaining the qualification for the role of Associate Professor in the ING/INF-04 (Automatics) sector in November 2005. From December 2010 he is Associate Professor of Automatics at the Department of Information Engineering (DINFO) of the University of Florence.
From November 2016 to October 2020 he was President of the Degree Course in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering.Since November 2020 he has been a member of the Academic Senate of the University of Florence as a representative of the teachers and researchers of the Technology Area. Michele Basso is a member of the SYSTEMS and CONTROL laboratory of DINFO. He is also affiliated with the Interdepartmental Center for the Study of Complex Dynamics (CSDC) of the University of Florence.
