L'attività scientifica si colloca nell'area del diritto dell'economia, con specifico riferimento alla trasformazione giuridica ed economica dell'ordine monetario e delle infrastrutture di pagamento. Le linee di ricerca attualmente prevalenti riguardano la regolazione europea delle cripto-attività e della moneta tokenizzata (MiCAR), l'euro digitale e l'impatto delle CBDC sulla disintermediazione bancaria, la riforma dei servizi di pagamento (PSD3/PSR), la moneta programmabile e i pagamenti AI-condizionati.

In particolare, gli interessi scientifici vertono sulla regolazione indipendente, con riguardo, nello specifico, al ruolo delle autorità di controllo del mercato finanziario, e, in generale, a tutti quegli aspetti che sono attinenti la 'costituzione economica' ed il rapporto tra pubblico e privato.
