Giovanna Acampa, born in Florence (Italy) in December 4th, 1962, graduated in Architecture in 1989 at the University of Florence. She was Adjunct Professor in “Real Estate Appraisal” since 1998 at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Florence. In 2012 she became Temporary University Researcher acting as Assistant Professor in " Real Estate Appraisal " (scientific sector ICAR/22) at the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, University of Enna Kore. From2015 she is Associate Professor and she teaches several Appraisal, Evaluation and Management courses, in Civil and Environmental Engineering and Architecture. She is member of the committee of the Doctorate in ““Civil and Environmental Engineering”. She has supervised 3 PhD students and about 40 master students. She is author of over 40 publications on topics like: urban transport systems, sustainable mobility, air transport systems, technical/economic feasibility of transport interventions, agent-based modelling applied to transport planning. He has been the scientific responsible of several feasibility studies and transport plans at municipal, provincial and regional levels. She has been Scientific Responsible for the University of Kore of the MSCA-RISE 2017 – Research and Innovation Staff Exchange WARMEST (Low altitude remote sensing for the monitoring of the state of cultural heritage sites: building an integrated model for maintenance). She was visiting professor at the Escola Tecnica Superior d'Arquitectura del Vallès of the University Politècnica de Catalunya, and at Gdansk University of Technology ( Staff Mobility in the frame Erasmus Plus and courses within PhD studies within the POWER program)
She is the Director at the “Osservatorio Regionale Prezzi del Mercato Immobiliare e dei Costi di manutenzione, ristrutturazione e restauro delle Opere Edili” (Regional Monitor on Property Market Prices and on maintenance, renovation and restoration costs in Construction Works) of the University of Enna Kore.

Competence and expertise, leadership capacity and potential for collaboration
Giovanna Acampa has several research collaborations with Italian and international peers, and she leads the Kore BIM research group inside the University of Enna Kore, composed of young researchers, Post-Doc and assistant professors. Some of the most significant competences and experiences are listed below:
- Project evaluation: quantitative and qualitative methodologies for evaluation of projects, cost evaluation tools.
- Multi-criteria analysis to support decision-making process
- Practice based evaluation to promote public participation in public programs
- Building Information Modelling : HBIM and IBIM feasibility tools to design process assessment
- Manteinance costs: with specific reference to heritage, buildings and infrastructures.
- Management: Optimization of management choices
She is in charge of different responsibility roles on behalf on UNIKORE:
- 2011-today: Director at the Estimation and construction management laboratory (L.E.M) using several softwere for buiding information modelling (REVIT, AECOSIM, …..)
- 2013 -2017: Responsible for the Memorandum of Understanding between the Kore University of Enna and ANCE Enna (National Association of Building Contractors) for the purpose of collaboration on issues of common interest and mutual exchange of expertise in training and research programmes, as well as the provision of synergistic actions to promote integration between teaching, research, the public works system and the local production system.
- 2017- today: Responsible for the Memorandum of Understanding between the Kore University of Enna and the Agenzia del Demanio as reference lecturer in the field of research on Project Management techniques and BIM technologies
- 2019- today: Coordinator of the scientific and educational cooperation activities between the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture of the Kore University of Enna and The Afeka Tel Aviv Academic College of Engineering (Israel).
