Profile: Stefano Ricci received the degree in Electronics Engineering in 1997, and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Systems Engineering in 2001 from the University of Florence. Since 2006 he worked as Assistant Professor at the Information Engineering Department of the University of Florence; in 2017 he achieved the national qualification for Associate professor role in Electronics and Bioengineering, and since 2019 he got the position of associate professor in Electronics.
Research: Stefano Ricci activities are focused on the development of high-performance electronics systems for acquisition and data elaboration, and compact embedded systems for industrial applications. Stefano Ricci works with high-performance digital programmable devices like DSP and FPGA, high-rate AD and DA converters. He is involved in the development and test of innovative ultrasound methods for medical and industrial applications.
Academic activity: Stefano Ricci teaches in the bachelor’s and master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, and Robotics Engineering where he was tutor of more than 80 students’ graduate thesis. He serves in the of Information Engineering PhD board for the Electronics, Electromagnetics and Electrical Systems curriculum in University Florence. He is involved in the tutorship of PhD students, and was included in international committees for PhD students final evaluation.
Editorial activity: Stefano Ricci is in the editorial board of Electronics journal (IF 1.76). In 2017 Stefano Ricci was in the TPC of IEEE International Instrumentation and Measurement Technology Conference (I2MTC), and in local chair in the Artimino Conference on Medical Ultrasound. He served as reviewer for more than 100 papers for 14 international journals (60 for IEEE Transactions). He is author of more than 100 publications in international conferences and journals; his h-index is 24 and received more than 1600 citations (@Scopus).
Projects & collaborations: Stefano Ricci served as principal investigator of unit in national and regional projects. His collaborations with Universities and Industries include Lund, Pisa and Rome Universities, Sika technologies, Research Institute of Sweden, STMicroelectronics, etc.
