Specializzato in pediatria presso l’Università degli Studi di Firenze nel 2003. Dal 2003 al 2007 Assegnista di Ricerca dell’Università degli Studi di Firenze su vari progetti di Endocrinologia Pediatrica: “Variations of urinary melatonin during overexposure to television and its possible pathogenetic role in idiopathic precocious puberty” dal 2003 al 2004. “Endocrine and non-endocrine factors that influence the period of biological maturation” dal 2004 al 2007.Nel 2005 ha acquisito il titolo, presso l’Università degli Studi di Firenze, di Master di II livello in Genetica Clinica e di Laboratorio.Dal 2007 al 2009 Ricercatore a Tempo Determinato dell’Università degli Studi di Firenze sul progetto di Ricerca in Endocrinologia pediatrica: “Epiphysis and hypophysis. Possible relation between the secretion of melatonin, growth and time of maturation”.Nel 2010 ha acquisito il titolo, presso l’Università degli Studi di Firenze, di Perfezionamento in Malattie Rare pediatriche.Dal 2012 al 2019 Ricercatore a Tempo determinato presso il Dipartimento di Scienze della Salute dell’Università degli studi di Firenze con afferenza assistenziale presso l’Auxoendocrinologia dell’Ospedale Pediatrico Meyer IRCCS.Nel 2013 ha acquisito il titolo, presso l’Università degli Studi di Firenze, di Master di II livello in Malattie Metaboliche dell’Osso: dal gene alla Cura.Nel 2014 vincitore di un Grant della European Society for Pediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) per l’ESPE diabetes/obesity school in Tel Aviv.Nel 2018 insignito del riconoscimento di "Valdarnese dell'anno" per l'attività di volontariato e sociale. Nel 2019 Professore Associato di Pediatrica dell’Università degli Studi di Firenze, Dipartimento di Scienze della Salute, con afferenza assistenziale presso l’Auxoendocrinologia dell’Ospedale Pediatrico Meyer IRCCS.Tra i suoi interessi clinici e scientifici principali i disordini della funzione tiroidea, i disordini dell’accrescimento e puberali, le malattie congenite ed acquisite dell’osso e le malattie rare pediatriche.Autore di oltre 120 pubblicazioni scientifiche, 11 capitoli in libri scientifici, oltre 150 abstracts e relazioni in convegni.È membro della Società Europea di Endocrinologia pediatrica (ESPE), della Società Italiana di Endocrinologia e Diabetologia Pediatrica (SIEDP) e della Società Italiana di medicina dell?Adolescenza (SIMA). Della SIEDP è membro della Commissione Didattica.

Stefano Stagi graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 1997 from the University of Florence and has been registered with the Medical Association of Arezzo since 1998. He completed his specialisation in Paediatrics at the University of Florence in 2003.From 2003 to 2007, as a Research Fellow at the University of Florence, Stefano worked on various projects in the field of paediatric endocrinology including "Variations of urinary melatonin during overexposure to television and its possible pathogenetic role in idiopathic precocious puberty" from 2003 to 2004, and "Endocrine and non-endocrine factors that influence the period of biological maturation" from 2004 to 2007. In 2005 he obtained a Level II Master’s in Clinical and Laboratory Genetics from the University of Florence. From 2007 to 2009 he worked as a Researcher at the University of Florence on a fixed-term contract for the project "Epiphysis and hypophysis. Possible relation between the secretion of melatonin, growth and time of maturation". In 2010 he obtained a Postgraduate Degree in rare paediatric diseases from the University of Florence. From 2012 to 2019 he was a Researcher at the Department of Health Sciences of the University of Florence, and Paediatric Endocrinologist at the Auxo-endocrinology Department of the Meyer IRCCS Paediatric Hospital. In 2013 he obtained a II Level Master’s in Metabolic Diseases of the Bone: from Gene to Cure, from the University of Florence. In 2014 he was awarded a grant from the European Society for Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE) for the ESPE diabetes/obesity school in Tel Aviv. In 2018 he won the "Valdarnese of the year", prize for his voluntary and social activities. Since 2019 Stefano has been Associate Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Florence, Department of Health Sciences, while working in the Auxo endocrinology Department of the Meyer IRCCS Paediatric Hospital. Among his main clinical and scientific interests are thyroid function disorders, growth and pubertal disorders, congenital and acquired bone diseases and rare paediatric diseases. He is the author of more than 120scientific publications, 11 chapters in scientific books, and more than 150 abstracts and conference papers. He is a member of the European Society of Paediatric Endocrinology (ESPE), the Italian Society of Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetology (SIEDP) and the Italian Society of Adolescent Medicine (SIMA). He is also a member of the Teaching Commission of the SIEDP.
