CLINICAL RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

Her research activities focus primarily on both rare and common disorders of mineral and bone metabolism, as well as parathyroid disorders, encompassing clinical, epidemiological, genetic, pharmacogenetic, radiological, cellular, and molecular research. Her main research interests include secondary osteoporosis and rare disorders of mineral and bone metabolism, particularly X-linked hypophosphatemia (XLH), hypophosphatasia, and osteogenesis imperfecta. Since 2013, she has been involved in several clinical trials on hypophosphatasia, chronic hypoparathyroidism, and X-linked hypophosphatemia.

Her major research interests include: genetic, clinical, radiological, pharmacogenetic, cellular and molecular investigation of metabolic bone disorders, rare congenital metabolic bone diseases, parathyroid disorders, and of genetic, clinical, and molecular features of hereditary endocrinological tumors. Her major research activities are related to basic and clinical/epidemiological studies on metabolic bone disorders; clinics, genetics and pharmacogenetics of osteoporosis and other bone disorders; genetics of paget’s disease of bone; bone, endocrine and stem cell biology; basic and clinical studies on parathyroid diseases and pathogenesis of primary hyperparathyroidism.
