Curriculum Vitae - Veronica Pazzi

Legenda
Veronica Pazzi received the M.Sc. degree in environmental engineering and the Ph.D. degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Firenze (Italy) in 2007 and 2011, respectively. From 2011 to 2021, she was a Post-Doctoral Researcher with the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Firenze. From 2021 to 2024, she was Researcher at the University of Trieste (Italy). Since 2024, she has been an Associate Professor in Applied Geophysics at the University of Firenze. Her research interests mainly include geophysical investigations, especially electrical resistivity and passive seismic methods, applied to engineering geology, landslides, agro/hydrogeophysics, applied seismology, and archaeological/cultural heritage. She is member of the SEG, EAGE, EGU, IAEG Italian Section, AIGEO, and AIGAA societies. Since 2022, she has been the Scientific Officer of the EGU NH3—Landslides and Avalanches subdivision and member of the SEG Near-Surface Geophysics Technical Section Global Subcommittee.
Research Interests
The main research topics are in the field of applied geophysics, engineering geology, and applied seismology. They include the application of non-invasive surface geophysical techniques (mainly electrical resistivity tomographies, induced polarization, GPR,and seismic noise) for the study, characterization, and monitoring of instability phenomena (landslides and sinkholes) both at local and regional scale, as well as other environmental problems. Part of the research is also focused on agro-geophysics, on the application of geophysical techniques to archaeology and cultural heritage, to the characterization and quantification of site effects induced by earthquakes, to the development of expeditious methods for the characterization of the seismic vulnerability of buildings and cultural sites of interest, and to the improvement of perception and awareness of geological hazards and resilience.
