Elisa CARRARI

Curriculum

Since September 2022, Dr. Elisa Carrari is RTDa at the Laboratory of Environmental Botany and Plant Diversity of the DAGRI department, University of Florence. In 2012, she graduated in “Forest Science and Technology” and she gained her PhD 2016 in “Plant, Microbiology and Genetic Science” at the same university with certification of Doctor Europae. After the PhD, she spent 4 years as research fellow at the Italian National Research Council at the Institute of Plant Protection, IPSP (2016-2020) and two years at DAGRI (2020-2022). She was on maternity leave for 5 months in 2019. She was also External Research Associate at the ForNaLab at the Gent University (Belgium) from 2016 to 2018. She teaches Plant Biology at the University of Florence at the facuclties of Agriculture and Architecture. Her main research topics are related with the study of the effects of disturbances and stress factors of natural and anthropic origin on forest vegetation. In particular, she focuses her activity on i) methods of analysis of plant ecology to evaluate the response of vegetation in terms of productivity, composition, specific/functional diversity and adaptive strategies. ii) forest monitoring iii) tree health and management in urban context.
