Carolina VALLEJO RODRIGUEZ

Biografia

Sono una ricercatrice Rita Levi Montalcini (ricercatrice di tipo B) presso l'Università di Firenze (UNIFI), dove lavoro come membro del gruppo di Algebra. Sono inoltre membro del GNSAGA dell’Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica "Francesco Severi" (INdAM).

Il mio principale interesse di ricerca riguarda le cosiddette Counting Conjectures, che rientrano nella categoria dei problemi globali/locali nella Teoria della Rappresentazione dei Gruppi.

Tra aprile 2019 e giugno 2021 sono stata professoressa assistente a Madrid, prima presso la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) e successivamente presso la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). In precedenza, ho ricoperto diverse posizioni postdoc: sono stata ricercatrice postdoc Juan de la Cierva presso la UAM, borsista Severo Ochoa presso l'Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas (ICMAT) e postdoc al Simons Laufer Mathematical Science Institute (UC Berkeley). Ho conseguito il dottorato presso l'Università di Valencia, sotto la supervisione di Gabriel Navarro.

La mia ricerca è attualmente finanziata dal Programma Rita Levi-Montalcini per Giovani Ricercatori (bando 2019) e dal progetto INdAM-GNSAGA Block Theory of Finite Groups and Related Objects (CUP E53C24001950001). In precedenza, sono stata responsabile scientifica (PI) del progetto spagnolo I+D+i COCO - Counting Conjectures (PID2020-118193GA-I00).

Sono stata relatrice invitata in oltre quindici occasioni, tenendo seminari presso numerose istituzioni di ricerca di rilevanza internazionale, tra cui il Simons Laufer Mathematical Sciences Institute (precedentemente MSRI, USA), il Banff International Research Station (Canada) e il Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach (Germania), tra gli altri.

Nel corso della mia carriera ho ottenuto diversi finanziamenti competitivi per la ricerca. Tra questi figurano una borsa post-dottorato Juan de la Cierva, una borsa Severo Ochoa presso l’ICMAT, un progetto nazionale I+D+i spagnolo come Principal Investigator (COCO – Counting Conjectures, PID2020-118193GA-I00), nonché il prestigioso finanziamento Rita Levi-Montalcini per giovani ricercatori, che attualmente sostiene la mia attività presso l’Università di Firenze.

Biography

I am a Rita Levi Montalcini researcher (ricercatrice tipo B) at the University of Florence (UNIFI), where I work as a member of the Algebra group. I am also a member of the GNSAGA of the Istituto di Alta Matematica "Francesco Severi" (INdaM).

My main interest are the so-called Counting Conjectures, which fit into the class of global/local problems in Group Representation Theory.

Between April 2019 and June 2021 I was an assistant professor in Madrid, first at at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (UC3M) and later at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM). Prior to that, I have held different postdoc positions. I was a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral researcher at the UAM, a Severo Ochoa fellow at the Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas (ICMAT) and a postdoc at the Simons Laufer Mathematical Science Institute (UC Berkeley). I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Valencia, where I worked under the supervision of Gabriel Navarro.

My research is currently funded by the Rita Levi-Montalcini Programme for Young Reseachers (bando 2019) and the INdAM-GNSAGA project Block Theory of Finite Groups and Related Objects (CUP E53C24001950001). Previously, I was the PI of the Spanish I+D+i project COCO - Counting Conjectures (PID2020-118193GA-I00).

I have been an invited speaker on more than fifteen occasions, delivering talks at several internationally renowned research institutions. These include the Simons Laufer Mathematical Sciences Institute (formerly MSRI, USA), the Banff International Research Station (Canada), and the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach (Germany), among others.

Over the course of my career, I have been awarded several competitive research grants. These include a Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellowship, a Severo Ochoa postdoctoral fellowship at ICMAT, a Spanish National I+D+i project as Principal Investigator (COCO – Counting Conjectures, PID2020-118193GA-I00), and the prestigious Rita Levi-Montalcini grant for young researchers, which currently funds my work at the University of Florence.
