AREAS: Probability theory, statistical physics and complex networks.
TOPICS: Markov chains, random walks, self-avoiding walks, branching random walks, random media, disordered systems, interacting particle systems, hydrodynamic limits, large deviations, metastability, spectral geometry, random graph ensembles, random partitioning, random spanning trees and forests, FK-percolation, networks renormalization, randomized algorithms for network analysis.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: My scientific production is constituted by two main lines of investigation I am developing along theyears: the first line is fundamental and concerns the study of the long term behaviour of key models of random processes in random environments in different geometrical settings (integer lattices, non-regular graphs and random graphs, possibly changing over time), the second line is more applied and aims at designing randomized algorithms to analyze network based data sets by using random walk kernels and random rooted forests.
