Cristina Piselli è ricercatrice a tempo determinato presso il Dipartimento di Architettura - DIDA dell'Università degli Studi di Firenze. Ha conseguito la Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Edile-Architettura presso l'Università degli Studi di Perugia nel 2014 e il Dottorato di Ricerca in Energia e Sviluppo Sostenibile presso il CIRIAF - Centro Interuniversitario di Ricerca sull'Inquinamento e l'Ambiente “Mauro Felli”, Università degli Studi di Perugia 2018. È ingegnere edile e opera nel campo della Fisica Tecnica Ambientale e Impianti Tecnici. Ha partecipato a numerosi progetti nazionali e internazionali volti a promuovere la transizione energetica, attraverso l'efficienza energetica degli edifici e la sostenibilità ambientale, e il benessere degli occupanti nell'ambiente costruito, quali, ad esempio, il progetto H2020 InPath-TES, il progetto H2020 ZERO-PLUS, il progetto H2020 SWS-HEATING, il progetto H2020 GeoFit progetto e il progetto H2020 NRG2peers. Inoltre, è membro del gruppo di esperti dell'Annex 79 IEA EBC - Occupant-Centric Building Design and Operation e ha fatto parte del precedente Annex 66 IEA EBC - Definition and Simulation of Occupant Behavior in Buildings. Fino al 2021 ha fatto parte del gruppo di ricerca dell'EAP Lab (Environmental Applied Physics Laboratory) dell'Università degli Studi di Perugia, occupandosi di efficienza energetica degli edifici e, in particolare, benessere e comportamento degli occupanti in ambiente costruito, analisi in regime dinamico delle prestazioni energetiche degli edifici, soluzioni innovative attive e passive per l'efficienza energetica di edifici e di quartieri, mitigazione dell'isola di calore urbano, sistemi energetici e comunità energetiche. Lavora su temi di ricerca applicata e di trasferimento tecnologico inerenti a (i) sviluppo e sperimentazione di nuovi materiali efficienti e sistemi energetici per l'ambiente costruito nuovo e storico, (ii) progettazione centrata sull'occupante di ambienti interni ed esterni attraverso l'analisi multidimensionale del comfort e del comportamento degli occupanti, (iii) modellazione e monitoraggio di edifici e quartieri per la mitigazione del microclima e dell'isola di calore urbana e l'ottimizzazione dell'effetto inter-edificio, e (iv) sistemi di refrigerazione. Di recente ha affrontato il tema delle prestazioni energetiche, del comfort ambientale interno e della progettazione sostenibile negli aeroporti e negli edifici della grande distribuzione organizzata. In questo contesto, è interessata a questioni di ricerca relative all'integrazione delle fonti di energia rinnovabile e all'ottimizzazione delle prestazioni dell'involucro edilizio e dei sistemi energetici al fine di ridurre al minimo il consumo energetico dell'edificio, garantendo al tempo stesso il necessario benessere interno incentrato sull'occupante e la qualità dell'ambiente interno in questi edifici caratterizzati da requisiti peculiari.

Cristina Piselli is Assistant professor at the Department of Architecture - DIDA, University of Florence, Italy. She received the master degree in Building Engineering - Architecture from the University of Perugia, Italy, in 2014 and the PhD in Energy and Sustainable development from CIRIAF - Interuniversity Research Centre on Pollution and Environment “Mauro Felli”, University of Perugia, Italy, in 2018. She is a building engineer and works in Environmental Applied Physics and Energy Systems. She has participated in several national and international projects aimed at promoting the energy transition through building energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and human wellbeing in the built environment, such as the H2020 InPath-TES project, the H2020 ZERO-PLUS project, the H2020 SWS-HEATING project, the H2020 GeoFit project, and the H2020 NRG2peers project. Moreover, she is an expert member of IEA EBC Annex 79 - Occupant-Centric Building Design and Operation and she was part of the previous IEA EBC Annex 66 - Definition and Simulation of Occupant Behavior in Buildings. Up to 2021, she was a member of the EAP Lab (Environmental Applied Physics Laboratory) research team at the University of Perugia, dealing with building energy efficiency and, specifically, occupant behavior and human comfort in the built environment, dynamic analysis of building energy performance, active and passive innovate solutions for building and communities energy efficiency and urban heat island mitigation, energy systems, and energy communities. She works on the applied research and tech transfer topics of (i) development and novel testing of new smart materials and energy systems for the new and historic built environment, (ii) human-centered design of indoors and outdoors through multidimensional comfort analysis and occupant behavior investigation, (iii) modeling and monitoring of buildings and districts for microclimate and urban heat island mitigation and inter-building optimal operation, and (iv) refrigeration. Recently, she has approached the topic of energy performance, indoor environmental comfort, and sustainable design in airports and in food retail trade buildings.
