Biografia

Fabiana Di Ciaccio è ricercatrice (RTDa) presso il Dipartimento di Ingegneria Civile e Ambientale dell'Università di Firenze e membro del Laboratorio di Geomatica per l'Ambiente e la Conservazione dei Beni Culturali (GECO). Ha conseguito il dottorato di ricerca europeo presso l'Università Parthenope di Napoli in "Ambiente, Risorse e Sviluppo Sostenibile" - UNESCO Chair. I suoi interessi di ricerca comprendono metodi di stima dell'orientamento basati su tecniche visual-inertial, Computer Vision e Deep Learning, oltre alla conservazione del patrimonio culturale, valutazione dell'impatto dei cambiamenti climatici, monitoraggio ambientale, metrologia, fotogrammetria subacquea e tecniche di ricostruzione 3D. Fa parte del gruppo di lavoro ISPRS WG II/7 per l'Acquisizione e l'Elaborazione di Dati Subacquei. Ha lavorato come Guest Editor per riviste MDPI e come chair di Special Sessions per l'International Workshop on Metrology for the Sea. È una delle organizzatrici del 1° Workshop Internazionale di Computer Vision per il Monitoraggio e la Conservazione dell'Ambiente (ICIAP 2023) e del 1° Workshop di Machine Vision per l'Osservazione della Terra ed il Monitoraggio Ambientale (BMVC 2023).

Fabiana DI CIACCIO

Biography

Fabiana Di Ciaccio is an assistant professor (RTDa) at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the University of Florence and member of the Geomatics for Environment and COnservation of Cultural heritage (GECO) Laboratory. She holds a PhD from Parthenope University of Naples in in Environment, Resources and Sustainable Development - UNESCO Chair and her research interests include Environmental Monitoring and machine/deep learning (sea surface temperature prediction, shoreline extraction, optimization of the orientation for maritime automated vehicles, etc); monitoring and preservation of cultural heritage against natural and anthropogenic risks and the effects of climate change, metrology, underwater photogrammetry and 3D reconstruction techniques. Dr. Di Ciaccio is part of the ISPRS WG II/7 for Underwater Data Acquisition and Processing. She worked as Guest Editor for MDPI and OPHOTO journals and as special session chair for the International Workshop on Metrology for the Sea. She is lead organizer of the 1st International Workshop on Computer Vision for Environment Monitoring and Preservation (ICIAP 2023) and of the Workshop on Machine Vision for Earth Observation and Environment Monitoring (BMVC 2023 - BMVC 2024). She works as reviewer for the most influential conference and journal dedicated to metrology, geomatics and Artificial Intelligence techniques applied to the environment.
