Rosa Giovanna Barresi, LL.M.(FU), is a corporate and financial law lawyer, and member of the Rome Bar. She is an adjunct professor for Blockchain and Economic Law of Digital Assets at the School of Economics and Management, MSc in Accounting Auditing & Control at the University of Florence, and an associate member of the research unit BABEL (Blockchains and Artificial Intelligence for Business, Economics, and Law) at the Department of Economics and Management of the University of Florence, where she also lectured in the Economics and Law of Digital Assets (ELDA) course. She holds a Master in Laws (LL.M.) in Banking, Corporate & Finance Law from Fordham University School of Law, in New York (2005), where she worked at the international law firms Covington & Burling LLP and Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. She is an individual Fellow of the European Law Institute (ELI), a member of the Society for the Advancement of Socio-Economics (SASE), an Expert of the Digital Euro Association (DEA), and a member of the Digital Asset Task Force (DAFT)—Global Coalition to Fight Financial Crime. She founded “Amerigo For Law” a collaborative learning program in US Law for European lawyers and managers held in 2017, 2018, 2019 in New York City, Washington DC, and Boston in collaboration with Fordham University School of Law; American University - Washington College of Law; Georgetown University - Institute of International Economic Law; Massachusetts Institute of Technology - Sloan School of Management. Her research is focused on digital assets with particular regard to Central Bank Digital Currencies and personal payment devices. She lectured at many international conferences and authored publications in her field of research.
