Giorgia Giovannetti è professoressa ordinaria di Economia presso l'Università di Firenze e vicepresidente per le relazioni internazionali, visiting fellow la NYU di Firenze, nonché membro del Consiglio di Reggenza della Banca d'Italia. È responsabile scientifica per Unifi dell'Alleanza Universitaria Europea EUniWell e membro del board della Fondazione IHEA (Fondazione per l'Istruzione Superiore con l'Africa). Ha ricoperto il ruolo di direttrice scientifica del (primo e secondo) Rapporto Europeo sullo Sviluppo nel 2009 e nel 2010, e di direttrice del Centro di Ricerca dell'Istituto Italiano di Commercio (ICE) (2005-2007). Ha conseguito un dottorato di ricerca in Economia e un Master of Philosophy presso l'Università di Cambridge (Regno Unito) e una laurea con lode in Statistica presso l'Università Roma La Sapienza. È stata fellow e docente presso il Trinity College di Cambridge e visiting professor in diverse prestigiose università straniere. Ha svolto attività di consulenza per la commissione europea (direzione sviluppo), il Presidente dell'Istituto Italiano di Commercio, il Ministero del Tesoro e del Commercio Estero, il Center for Global Development (CGD) e la Banca Mondiale. È membro eletto di FERDI e della Fondazione d'Agliano. Fa parte del comitato editoriale di diverse riviste e di rapporti (IeMED, Economia Italiana etc). I suoi lavori sono stati pubblicati su importanti riviste accademiche e presentati nei principali convegni internazionali.

Giorgia Giovannetti is full Professor of Economics at the University of Florence and vice president for international relations, visiting Fellow at NYU, Florence and member of the “consiglio di Reggenza” of the Bank of Italy. She is the principal investigator for Unifi of the European University Alliance EUniWell and is in the advisory board of the Africa Foundation for Higher Education. She acted as Scientific Director of the (first and second) European Report on Development in 2009 and 2010, and as Director of the Research Centre of the Italian Trade Institute-ICE (2005-2007). She holds a PhD in Economics and a Master of Philosophy from Cambridge University (UK), and a Laurea cum laude in Statistics from Roma la Sapienza. She was fellow and lecturer at Trinity College- Cambridge and visiting Professor in several top foreign universities. She has been advising the EU Commissioner for Development, the President of the Italian Trade Institute, the Italian Treasury and Minister of Foreign Trade, the Center for Global Development (CGD), the World Bank. She is elected fellow of FERDI and Fondazione D’Agliano. She is member of boards of Journals and Report. Her work has been published in leading academic journals and presented in main international conferences.
