Leonardo Chiesi è professore ordinario di Sociologia nella Scuola di Architettura dell’Università di Firenze. E' stato Associate Visiting Professor presso il Department of Architecture, University of California-Berkeley. E’ coordinatore scientifico del LabSo, Laboratorio Sociologico su Design, Architettura e Territorio e del Master Universitario “Futuro vegetale. Piante, innovazione sociale e progetto” (futurovegetale.it). Si occupa di scienze sociali applicate al design e alla progettazione architettonica, urbanistica e del paesaggio.

Leonardo Chiesi graduated in Social Sciences in the School of Political Sciences “Cesare Alfieri” in the University of Florence. He holds a PhD in Methodology of the Social Sciences from the University “La Sapienza” of Rome. He is a Full Professor of Sociology in the School of Architecture of the University of Florence and was visiting associate professor in the Department of Architecture, University of California at Berkeley, 2015-2020. He is interested in social research methods for architecture, urban design and planning and he studies how sociology and design can be mutually engaged. He is the scientific coordinator of Master Degree in “Futuro vegetale. Piante, innovazione sociale e progetto” (futurovegetale.it )
