Legenda
Graduated in Geology (biostratigraphy and sedimentology) in 2005, I was awarded my PhD in 2009 with a thesis on dinosaur tracks from the Late Jurassic of Morocco. Since then, the focus of my work has been vertebrate ichnology, especially -but not only- dinosaurs. Since the doctoral period, I have been fascinated by the new digitization methods and their application to track, and I have tested many of them. In the last years, the projects I was involved gave me a strong background and skills in the application of photogrammetry to palaeontology, allowing the definition of standard procedures for the application of the method to any paleontological sample. After a postdoc at the Museum fuen Naturkunde Berlin, I worked at the Paléontologie A16 (Porrentruy, Switzerland) using classical and innovative methods to study the largest dinosaur track collection of the world (ca. 1300 m2 of original surfaces and casts, more than 1000 footprints). In the latest years, I was involved in the development and testing of the freeware ichnological software DigTrace, developed by the Bournemouth University where I have spent a period as Visiting researcher. From 2020 to 2023 I have been Ricercatore RTD-b (Senior Lecturer) at the University of Florence, where now I'm enrolled as Associate Professor.
My research interetst ranges from dinosaur ichnology, vertebrate ichnology, digitization methods, use of digital paleontological data for museum dispaly, reserach and outreach purposes.
