Leonardo Bocchi graduated in Electronic Engineering at the University of Florence, Italy in 1993. Since April 1993 to November 1993 he worked in the Department of Clinical Physiology of the University of Florence, on the Image Reference Database developed in the Telemed Project. Since November 1993 to October 1996 he attended the PhD at the Department of Electronic Engineering. In May 1997 he got the PhD degree in Bioengineering. Since July 2000 to February, 2009, he had a research contract with the Department of Electronics and Telecommunications. Since February, 2009 he has a permanent position as Researcher in Biomedical Engineering.
His research interests include medical image processing for Computer-Aided Diagnosis, applications of Fractal Geometry to image processing, and applications of neural networks to image understanding.
His latest research interests involve the analysis and modelling of the microcirculatory system.
He also cooperates with several industries in biomedical and informatic field.
