Augusto Vaglio consegue la laurea in Medicina e Chirurgia nel 2000 presso l’Università di Parma.Presso lo stesso ateneo completa nel 2005 il percorso di specializzazione in Nefrologia e, successivamente, nel 2009, il Dottorato di ricerca in Fisiopatologia dell’Insufficienza Renale.
Nel corso della sua formazione ha svolto attività di ricerca a livello internazionale: è stato post-doctoral fellow presso la Emory University di Atlanta, USA, e visiting fellow presso l’Università di Cambridge, Regno Unito.
Attualmente è Professore Associato di Nefrologia presso l’Università di Firenze e Direttore della Scuola di Specializzazione in Nefrologia dello stesso ateneo. Svolge la propria attività clinico-assistenziale presso l’Unità di Nefrologia dell’Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria Meyer IRCCS di Firenze.

Augusto Vaglio graduated in Medicine and Surgery in 2000 from the University of Parma. At the same university, he completed his specialization in Nephrology in 2005 and subsequently earned a PhD in Pathophysiology of Renal Failure in 2009.
During his training, he conducted research at the international level: he was a post-doctoral fellow at Emory University in Atlanta, USA, and a visiting fellow at the University of Cambridge, United Kingdom.
He is currently an Associate Professor of Nephrology at the University of Florence and Director of the School of Specialization in Nephrology at the same university. He carries out his clinical work at the Nephrology Unit of the Meyer IRCCS University Hospital in Florence.

His research focuses on the study of rare immune-mediated diseases with renal involvement, such as vasculitis and systemic lupus erythematosus, fibro-inflammatory diseases such as IgG4-related disease, and Erdheim-Chester disease.
